Girls on the Run of the Greater Piedmont 5K
Welcome community runners to the Fall 2024 Girls On The Run of the Greater Piedmont 5K!
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a non-competitive after-school running program that includes social emotional life skills and lessons for girls in grades 3rd-8th. GOTR envisions a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams! This is made possible by AMAZING volunteer coaches that are there every step of the way for 10 weeks with their girls encouraging them and running along side them so they can confidently cross the finish line at their End of the Season 5K!
We strive to make our program accessible to all girls no matter what their financial limitations may be. All proceeds from this race go towards our financial assistance to be able to cover the cost of any girls who wants to participate in Girls on the Run!
We are pleased to announce that this year's race will include anyone from the community (not associated with Girls on the Run) to be a part of our race! There are 100 community runner/walker spots available, so sign up fast before they are gone. We are excited to integrate the community with our Girls on the Run 5K. All community runners will receive a GOTR 5K T-shirt and GOTR medal with registration.
Drop Dead 5K

The race will take place throughout the beautiful 70+ acres of Charlotte’s Historic Elmwood Pinewood Cemetery. Run by the likes of Belk, Ivey, Morrison, Tate, and Blake, just to name a few of the resident luminaries. In addition to the 5K, the event features Knowledge Perk food truck, DJ, an award ceremony, and a guided tour after the race.

Strides for Shelter 5K Run + Walk
Join us for the 2024 Strides for Shelter 5K Run + Walk! Our 2024 beneficiary organization is Home Again Foundation.
Home Again Foundation, established in 2018, is dedicated to providing sustainable, affordable housing along with supportive services for the homeless and those who are at risk of becoming homeless. Residents in their communities are automatically enrolled in supportive services based on an individualized self-sufficiency assessment and service plan. The rent for these units is at or below market value with all utilities included. The proceeds from this year's race will fund the construction of a fully furnished one-bedroom, one-bath cottage for a homeless veteran in Home Again's second development on a 2-acre site in Mecklenburg County.

Runway 5K
Join us for the 17th Annual CLT Runway 5K.
This flat and fast course offers runners and walkers a unique opportunity to run one of the country's busiest airport runways. This run will take place completely on the runway and taxiways. Participants will see planes queuing up, taking off, and landing. This event is one that will be enjoyed by the whole family! You must register as a runner to participate. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. The race will be limited to 1500 participants. Proceeds from the CLT Runway 5K will help to fund Airport Opportunity Scholarships with Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) created to promote careers in aviation, as well as economic opportunities in Charlotte. The Airport scholarship will benefit students who are graduates of high schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) district and are Title 1 eligible. Each recipient will attend CPCC's Summer Bridge academic enrichment program and enroll in a two-year, career-focused degree program specific to the Aviation Department.
Brat Trot
The 4th Annual Brat Trot 5K hosted by On Tap, a local tap house/beer bar located in the heart of historic downtown Mooresville, NC. The event will start and end at the tap house, beginning at 9 am and finishing around 12pm.
The event is an homage to the Oktoberfest Festival customary to Germany and will be followed up by On Tap's Oktoberfest and Anniversary Celebration! The Brat Trot 5K and Oktoberfest have a few things in common: good beer, good friends and good fun - with the added bonus of a little heart-healthy exercise before the celebration!
The Brat Trot 5K also benefits Lake Norman Humane. There will be Dog Adoption on site race day.
Rocktoberfest Half Marathon & 5k
The Rocktoberfest Half Marathon and 5K is a running event that takes place in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It is a fun-filled event that combines running with music and beer. The event includes a half marathon and a 5K race, both of which take place in the scenic Riverwalk neighborhoods of Rock Hill.
To keep the runners motivated, there is a rock band performing live music near the start/finish line. After the race, participants can enjoy an Octoberfest beer garden where they can celebrate their achievements with friends and family. The beer garden will feature a variety of beers, including some of the best local brews.
This event is not just about the race; it's a full-day celebration of fitness, music, and good times. Whether you are a seasoned runner or a beginner, the Rocktoberfest Half Marathon and 5K is an excellent opportunity to have fun and experience the unique atmosphere of the Riverwalk area of Rock Hill. It's beautiful!!!
The Rocktoberfest Half Marathon & 5K will be capped for the 2024 event. There will be NO RACE DAY Registration so be sure to sign up early! ALL registration ends October 12th, 2024 unless we sell out before hand.

Walk for Blind Independence
Join our 2nd Annual Charity Event- Walk For Blind Independence!
October is Blindness & Disability Awareness Month!
Join us on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 9:00am for our 2nd Annual Charity Walk- Walk for Blind Independence benefiting Lions Services Inc., a 501(c)(3) based in Charlotte, N.C. This is a fun Charity Walk event for walkers and families. Attendees will complete a 2 Mile Walk on paved trails at the Eastway Regional Recreation Center surrounded by scenic nature preserve and wetlands. This gathering aims to bring together individuals from the community who either experience low vision, have a disability or have a loved one affected by it. Everyone is welcome to participate. Volunteers will be available if you need a walking guide.
We invite everyone from Charlotte and surrounding areas to join this FUN family event. Participants can choose between walking in person or virtual all while helping enhance programs for blind and visually impaired adults. We look forward to walking alongside you on October 5th!
C2 Obstacle Run
The Steele Creek YMCA C2 Obstacle Trail Run is an outdoor camp adventure that tests your mental and physical ability to overcome and be resilient. Join us at the tranquil campus of YMCA Camp Thunderbird on Saturday, September 9th, for an ideal team-building event that reawakens your inner camp child and connects you with nature. With over 600 participants in 2019, this signature event is soaring to new heights as a rapidly growing contest amongst community groups, companies, and schools. Hit the trails and make your footprints count in support of the YMCA Annual Campaign; giving youth an opportunity to play, learn and grow in a safe and thriving environment by providing hundreds of children the opportunity to participate in enriching, life-changing YMCA programs like preschool, after school, summer camp and sports.
The C2 Obstacle Trail Run is an impactful part of the 2024 YMCA of Greater Charlotte Race Series, with 3-mile and 1-mile obstacle courses for all ages and abilities.

Fight the Flame 5K
The Fight the Flame 5K was established with the goal to raise awareness and money for Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
There will be a 5k race and a 1k Family Roll & Stroll.
Prizes will be awarded to the top runners.
CRPS is chronic and debilitating with no cure. CRPS is characterized by severe, burning, and stabbing pain 24/7 along with swelling, changes in skin temperature and appearance, limited range of motion, and many other symptoms.
The mission of Fight the Flame is to raise awareness and educate the medical field and the public about Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS); while providing resources to support the CRPS community.
Boulder Dash
Welcome to the Martin Marietta Boulder Dash at Charlotte Quarry!
Martin Marietta is proud to host the the Third Annual Boulder Dash at Charlotte Quarry 5K & 5 Miler on Saturday, September 28, 2024. This charity event provides runners with a unique race experience, as participants will run through a working rock quarry while navigating an intense but scenic course.
This 5K and 5 Miler event showcases the impressive quarry operation and large plant equipment while testing participants' endurance and abilities. Both 5K and 5 mile runners will travel along the rim of the quarry while the 5-miler goes through the plant site and into the pit with a 300-foot elevation difference. The 5-miler course also features a 14% incline as it descends 9/10ths of a mile down before turning for a climb upward.

South End Shuffle
Presented by Skufca Law, Wooden Robot Brewery, and Beacon Partners, the 5K starts on W Summit Ave in front of Wooden Robot Brewery and heads into Charlotte's South End and Wilmore neighborhoods. There is also a 1 Mile Run for those looking for a shorter distance.
Registration includes a finisher medal and beer (21+) from Wooden Robot Brewery or ice cream for those under 21. Shirts included for the 5K, and available as an upgrade for the 1 Mile.
Fit 2 Fly 5K
The “Fit 2 Fly 5K” is in its fourth year as the airport’s only run on our 5,500-foot runway!
All are invited to come out and run/walk the runway. There will even be a Kid’s 1 Mile run on the runway as well. This is an opportunity to bring hundreds of runners, walkers, and families on an actual runway to help raise funds for our youth aspiring to become pilots through the David Griffin Aviation Foundation.

We're excited to head back to the highway for year six with thousands of your closest friends! In the first mile, you’ll head through Uptown just past the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC stadium. Just after mile 1, you'll enter I-277, Charlotte's inner beltway, for 3 miles where you'll see the Queen City from a new speed while circling the breathtaking skyline. Exiting the highway, you're onto the final two miles through the beautiful streets of the southeast's fastest growing city before heading back to the finish festival at Truist Field for a family friendly party for all!

Come hang out at dusk for our first ever Summer Nights 5K! The setting sun paired with the shade of our trails will make for the “coolest” race you can do around here in mid-July! Don’t tell anyone… but we may shave a minute or two off your time if you choose to take a dip in Lake Wylie as you run along the beautiful shoreline.
Participants can enjoy one of the best pre-race settings around at our new Trailhead Store that is shaded by old growth trees and situated right beside our beautiful ponds. Hydrate, hang out, cool off in the A/C as you prepare for a magical race during the golden hour in the Garden.
After the race is over, participants will receive free entry to the Garden to enjoy our summer exhibit: “Summer Lights.” This one-of-a-kind exhibit will make you feel like you’ve been transported to a tropical paradise. Especially with a seasonal cocktail or delicious summer beer in your hand!

The Festival will officially open to the public at 11:00AM and we will begin the fun with the Kids Dash/Fun Run around the pond at 11:30 AM.
